This is for all you ladies who have that inkling that your guy is about to fall on one knee any second now, and if you are anything like me, then you want that element of surprise of which ring your soon to be hubby picked out for you. But with so many options out there, your man has a high probability of not picking out the exact style you want. What is a gal to do? This article will give you a couple of options.
Option numero uno: The girl hint
So you and your man are shopping at Costco and you pass the jewelry counter, and you somehow manage to wrangle him over there to look with you. Make sure to “ooh” and “ah” at all the ring styles you’d be happy with, and give a nice evil snare to the ones you would definitely be unhappy with- just for good measure.
Option numero dos: Leave pictures up on your computer screen somewhere he will see them
While he’s in the shower, right before you leave for work do some quick google work. Fill a browser window with some options for him, then leave- quiet as can be. Later- if he questions you, act as if you have absolutely no idea what he’s talking about… The engagement ring gnome must have done it…
Option numeros tres: Employ a sneaky best friend, sister or mom to do your dirty work
Pick the most brazen of your lady friends to question him directly if he needs help. They can then drag him to the store, pull out all those magazine rip outs you’ve been clipping over the years and dutifully find the perfect ring for you!
Option numero cuatro: Slip some picks into his wallet when he’s not looking
Along the same lines as the google idea, print some of those pictures into point of view. This way he has a hard copy he can whip out when he’s shopping. This is also the best option if your guy isn’t the most detail oriented (and lets face it- how many dudes are?)
But no matter how surprised you want to be- make sure he knows your ring size and non-negotiables. If you are adamant about the gem type, metal, or setting make sure you somehow relate these details to him! Your engagement ring is the most important piece of jewelry that will ever be presented to you ever in your lifetime so you want to make sure he gets it right!
